Senior Manager, Corporate Business, Allied Irish Bank (GB)
Sid is Senior Manager-Corporate Business at Allied Irish Bank (GB)’s Corporate Office on Temple Row. He has been with Allied Irish since 2000 and presently leads a team of 20 business bankers providing a dedicated personal service to the bank’s corporate and business customers.
Sid has been in banking since 1981 starting his career with Natwest working in East Anglia at Bury St Edmunds and Norwich, before moving his family to Birmingham in 1995. Whilst having never been to Birmingham before that, the move has proven to be the best thing that he could have done.
“I really like the vibrancy of the city both in terms of business and social activity. It’s Britain’s second city but it still retains the intimacy of a village. It’s all about the people; this is particularly true in the professional sector where we work together across professions and between firms to meet the needs of our customers – corporate or personal” says Sid.
Sid enjoys playing an active role in this community and when the chance came to join the Board of Birmingham Forward in 2006 to be able to add a little more to the wider sector he works in, he jumped at the chance.
Sid comments, “I have particularly enjoyed being part of the Colmore Business Improvement District steering committee and am delighted that it was voted in, and is now moving forward rapidly. I am looking forward to my second three years serving on the Birmingham Forward Board.”
